Colombia is a mainstay origin in our coffee line up, the flavour profiles you can find across the country range from rich and sweet to vibrant and fruit forward, making it a fantastic area to explore over different coffees. We’re always excited by the bright and fruity side of what Colombian coffee has to offer and this lot from the Huila region is a fantastic example of that, packed with ripe plum and blackberry acidity followed by a sweet, syrupy finish.
Due to the vast number of smallholder farms across the country, it’s common for regional blends to be created throughout Colombia. This lot is a blend from several producers in Huila in the south, at an intersection of the Central and Eastern Andes mountains. The region is well known for its exceptional speciality production, producing bright lots often of the Caturra or Castillo variety. Both varietals are known for their high acidity and complex cup, often brewing up to beautiful citrus or berry notes and Caturra particularly known to have a syrupy sweetness, meaning they make a perfect pairing for blends.
This is another lot sourced through our friends at Ally Coffee who have built strong ties in the origin with several producers and exporters to provide both exceptional quality micro-lots and immaculate regional blends like this.
